You will start reading Malayalam after this post
When I was working in college, I got interested in reading Malayalam. Borrowed Malayalam India Today from a colleague who was also staying in the hostel. and tried reading. The strategy I used was 'Knowing the unknown thru' the known'. Looked for the photographs of the politicians and actors and tried reading the text in Malayalam below. Its is an incremental approach quite different from normal. Each letter you learn you use in learning new letters. By evening on that went back to my colleague to return the magazine and gave a demo of my newly learnt Malayalam reading skill.
Would like to share with you that pleasure of learning to read Malayalam. Given below is list of famous personalities with their names in Malayalam followed by their picture. (Few years later learnt to read Telugu using 4 pages of Vasundhara (Enadu newspaper supplement)

Vithisha is the daughter of my friend Mr.Kumarasamy, who was my batch mate in Engineering. She is a growing star in the world of bharathanatyam. She had her arangetram last year at the Music Academy. I went to the Music Academy to meet my friend and watched Vithisha's dance program. Now a days when she performs, I go to see her dance and also meet my friend.
